Steal these 20 posts to generate engagement for your Group or Page

We’re going super tactical today.

If you’ve got a business-oriented group on Facebook or Linkedin, or a business page that could use a little attention, I’ve got a treat for you.

I’m going to offer you 3 strategic approaches to generating engagement, and a list of 20 copy-paste posts you can use — no email required to get it (tthough if you’re not yet a subscriber to Becoming Superhuman, maybe this will convince you).

Let’s cut to the chase.

Engagement strategies

Engagement is the fuel of social algorithms. When a post gets attention, it will then start to get more attention.

These are the three core engagement strategies I recommend for anyone running a group or page.

1. Encourage shameless self-promotion

This one is obvious. Give people the space and permission to promote themselves. Many will take you up on it.

2. Give a call to action to help others

This one works best when piggy backing off of the first strategy. Generally speaking, people want to think of themselves as helpful and generous people. So, give them a simple and specific way to do it.

3. Create conversation or debate

This one just requires you to ask some good questions that either divide the audience or create new, novel and intriguing responses. To illustrate what I mean by “divide the audience,” the following are examples of non-business questions almost guaranteed to divide your audience and set a comment section on fire:

  1. “Who is really the GOAT? MJ, Kobe, Lebron, or Steph Curry?”
  2. “The Beatles were overrated, change my mind.”
  3. “Which party is better at running the country: Democrats or Republicans?”

Divide the audience and they’ll spend days arguing in the comments.

Now, with the strategies out of the way, steal these posts.

Make an Index

If the site you’re using allows for posts to be edited and you’re feeling up to it, create an index post and pin it to the top. Curate a list of similar posts (e.g. shameless self promotion) with links to each post. This way, new members/followers can participate in the posts and give them new life later on.

That’s all for today.

Good luck with your group and feel free to post a link to it in the comments or send me a message.
