And so, we come upon the end of another year.

I’m feeling reflective, not just on what we’ve accomplished together, but on the importance of seizing those vital moments of pause that create the space to get clarity for what comes next.

Together, we’ve tried to Become Superhuman, leveling up our capabilities and directing our energy at bringing about a kinder, safer, and more equitable world.

For 34 of the 52 weeks this year, I’ve published some ideas on how we go about leaving our dent in the universe.

Thank you for being on this journey with me.

Wandering into a New Year

For nearly a decade, I have been taking the last two weeks of the year off to let my mind wander. I take this time to think about the year that is coming to a close, to plan for the year coming up, and to lift some of the pressure to accomplish anything.

This period of rest and reflection is essential for me.

I encourage you to find whatever time you can through the year, months, and weeks, to just let your mind wander.

Retrospective and Words

This post will be the last of 2024 on Becoming Superhuman, but if you’re interested, I publish my annual Retrospective and My Three Words posts here.

The retrospective looks at what went well this year, what didn’t go well, and what steps I’ll be taking in the coming year. I also reflect on My Three Words from the year coming to a close. Finally, I document some stats on content published, books read, and other achievements I’m proud of.

My Three Words is something I’ve been posting in early January every year since 2013. It’s a process of picking three themes or ideas for the year, that help keep me focused on areas I want to improve.

So, if you’d like to follow along on either, I post them here and will probably send them out to my email list.

See you in 2025

By stepping back and giving my mind room to breathe, I gain the clarity and direction needed to approach the new year with purpose. It’s a habit that sustains me, and it can do the same for you. Give it a try, and let me know how it goes.

Thank you for being part of this journey toward Becoming Superhuman. Here’s to a reflective close to the year and an inspired start to 2025!
